Susan Park President's Award for Excellence: Daniel P. Dain
Daniel P. Dain has devoted his professional career to the question of what makes cities successful. Through his law practice and research on urban policy and law, he has concluded that constant innovation is the lifeblood of vital cities, and to create the conditions necessary to foster innovation, cities must be committed to what Dan calls the three “Ds” – density, diversity, and [good urban] design – how to create those urban spaces that will attract lots of people from different backgrounds and experiences to exchange ideas that will lead to new insights and innovations.
Susan Park President's Award for Excellence: Jean Carroon and Goody Clancy
Jean Carroon is a preservation architect, author, educator, and a tireless advocate for the stewardship of existing buildings. Over two decades, she has shaped a robust preservation practice at Goody Clancy, a Boston-based education design firm committed to sustainability, resilient design, and renewal of campus buildings nationwide.
2024 CODMAN AWARD FOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT: Roger Tackeff
The Boston Preservation Alliance is honored to present the 2024 Codman Lifetime Achievement Award to Roger Tackeff. For nearly forty-five years, Roger has championed the preservation of Boston’s historic buildings as the owner and CEO of Renaissance Properties, a real estate development firm specializing in historic preservation. His commitment to protecting the city’s architectural heritage extends beyond his professional endeavors, reflecting a deep dedication to giving back in all aspects of his life.
President's Award for Excellence: Jean Abouhamad and Sea-Dar
The Boston Preservation Alliance is pleased to present our 2023 Susan Park President’s Award for Excellence to Jean Abouhamad, President and Founder of Sea-Dar Construction. A structural engineer and real estate developer, Jean founded the company in 1991 after leaving a successful career with Simpson Gumpertz & Heger. His passion and knowledge have grown the firm throughout the Northeast. Jean has an eye for detail with a focus on restoring historic buildings.
2023 CODMAN AWARD FOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT: MICHAEL CANNIZZO
The Boston Preservation Alliance is pleased to present our 2023 Codman Lifetime Achievement Award to Michael Cannizzo, whose work in Boston has ensured the preservation and protection of the city’s historic built environment. As a senior architect with extensive experience in design review, his work encompasses restoration, and new construction — all while maintaining a regard for the existing structural landscape.
