Humphreys Street Studios, Uphams Corner

Humphreys Street Studios started out as Daloz Dry Cleaners building. They renovated the building into a studio where people can work and sell items like shirts and fence sculptures. Humphreys Street Studios were founded in 2002 by Joseph Wheelwright and Gneal Widett, where they made a business that was located at Humphreys Street in Dorchester. People were interested in the business, so they worked there and made Humphreys Street Studios more successful. When I went there, I saw the blacksmith. He was working with fire and then making fences for houses. His name is Andy Good.

In 2002, the Daloz Dry Cleaners building was turned into a business that would change people’s lives by giving them jobs and letting them feed their families. That place is called Humphreys Street Studios and it is a business where people create artwork, clothes, and sculptures. When I went there, I saw a blacksmith, and his name was Andy, and he was making multiple fences for houses.

Humphreys Street Studios helps the community by building fences and clothing for people that want to buy stuff for their houses or for them to wear. It helps people learn and helps them get a job.
