The Ritz-Carlton was originally completed in May of 1927. It is significant as an example of work by the architecture firm Strickland, Blodget and Law. The exterior façade underwent extensive restoration to return it to its original condition. Improvements were also made to the interior to update the life safety system, telecommunications connections, architectural details and furnishings.
